I think the answer to question 7 is d. Please review
ReplyDeleteHello James,
DeleteThanks for finding the typo error.
The typo error been fixed.
I kind of disagree on that 7th question. Because answer: 'Helps to check that we have built the right product' is saying that we have built something what our customer wanted so it's validation. If it would be verification that it would be: 'Helps to check that we have built the product right', basically as per specified requirements. Isn't it so ?
ReplyDeleteHello Kautkas,
DeleteThere was a missing option now it is corrected.
I have a question regarding Q.17. Why "The Test Cases Derived from use cases are most useful in uncovering defects in the process flows during real world use of the system"?
ReplyDeleteI would rather say that are most useful during testing use of the system. What is the use of such test cases when product is "in the field" or I misunderstand the term "during real world use".
Hi
ReplyDeleteWhere to find answer for the Q 11 in Syllabus?
Thank you
Hello Kalenders,
DeleteYou can find it in the ISTQB foundation level book.
Go to section: "2.4 MAINTENANCE TESTING".
Sincerely,
Hi,
ReplyDeleteQuestion number 30
A type of functional testing.....?
Is Security Testing comes under functionality Testing.
there are mistakes in the answers number 13,15,39 in the question paper no 11
ReplyDeleteYeah Security testing comes under functionality testing according to ISO 9126 Testing to determine the security of the product comes under functionality testing

DeleteDear ISTQB Personnel, Syllabus 2.3.1 Testing of Function (Functional Testing) (K2), this chapter clearly states: "A type of functional testing, security testing, investigates the functions (e.g., a firewall) relating to detection of threats, such as viruses, from malicious outsiders."
hi i m confused with q 18. according to the syllabus it is said that exhaustive testing is impossible.but according to ans its different. where it explained in the syllabus? can any body help?
ReplyDeleteDear Reena, I agree with You, I support your point. This is a very very very very "tricky" question. Anyone writing this question was unaware of the fact that the questions are supposed to be based on the syllabus material. Syllabus chapter 1.3 Seven Testing Principles (K2) clearly states: "Principle 2 – Exhaustive testing is impossible". Period. "except for trivial cases" is certainly in the Syllabus, but it is not mentioned in the question.. so it is certainly asked in a wrong way to get the correct answer..
Delete"Testing everything (all combinations of inputs and preconditions) is not feasible except for trivial cases" as mentioned in ISTQB foundation book. Hence Exhaustive testing is impractical but it may be possible for small cases.
ReplyDeleteDear Anjana, question is not mentioning we are talking about a trivial case. Question is talking in general. Principle no. 2. is clearly saying it is impossible to test everything. You were right, if the question specifically would mention it is a trivial case. But it doesn't.
DeleteOtherwise the syllabus is contradicting itself in this matter..
DeleteIf there are so many WRONG answers given then please dont post the answers of it. Let us find it on net or syllabus :(
ReplyDeletefantastic material thank you very much for posting
ReplyDeleteHow can Developing and prioritising test cases can come into test implementation and execution phase , its related to qstn 2, Can anyone plz explain me
